On a crisp October day just outside downtown Denver, the city took a meaningful step toward a cleaner, more inclusive future for transportation. In partnership with Koelbel and Company, Xcel Energy, and the City of Denver, Buzze unveiled a new set of EV charging stations at Sienna at Sloan’s Lake, a historic affordable apartment complex that’s now home to some of Denver’s most energy-conscious residents.
In attendance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Mike Johnston who described the inspiration for the project perfectly, "Clean, affordable transportation isn't just a luxury - it's essential to building a Denver that works for everyone. This collaboration between Buzze and Koelbel, powered by Xcel Energy's EV infrastructure incentives, is a perfect example of how we can make sustainability affordable.”
Buzze was contracted by Koebel and Co., the developers to build the chargers, a company focused on installing EV chargers at multi-family properties and utilizing available local incentives to minimize the cost for the city and developers. The Mile High City utilized Xcel Energy’s rebate opportunities to subsidize the chargers.

The new Buzze chargers are helping to close the loop by solving the “charging gap” for apartment residents. Creating an easy to use app, each Buzze station is managed through the Buzze mobile app, allowing residents to check availability, book sessions in advance, and make secure payments. Without reliable and convenient access to charging, EV adoption simply isn’t practical - Buzze CEO Aaron Lieberman said it best, “That's the dream that's being made possible for everybody who lives in this development.”
For Buzze, this is just the beginning - we plan to build charging stations in eight additional affordable housing communities, bringing new chargers online across the Denver metro area. We believe, as communities transition to cleaner energy, no neighborhood should be left behind.
